Being creative has been an important aspect of Julie’s world for most of her life, however having a career and three children meant that she had to relegate her creative endeavours to precious spare moments. As her children grew and her career approached retirement, Julie’s passion for art reignited as she took many art classes and workshops and her work as an artist blossomed.
She has recently retired and moved to a log home in the Rideau Lakes area where she regularly finds herself overwhelmed with and in awe of the beauty of nature all around. It has provided an inspiration for her newest style of paintings. Working her keen eye for colour and expression, she is able to bring the beauty and grandeur of nature onto the canvas.
She has studied with various artists in the Ottawa area over the years and her work has been shown in The Gordon Harrison Gallery, Shenkman Arts Centre, Perth Gallery and Gallery on Gore. Julie's paintings can be found in private collections in Canada and the UK.
