Joseph Foster
Joseph Foster has a non-traditional art education. Instead of going to art school he worked side by side with master artist Douglas A Manning. His works have been collected by The Queen Mother, The Royal Bank, The Australian Consulate and many other corporations for their collections. He worked so closely with a professional artist he was able to train in fundamental techniques which included only valid working skills and mindsets. He was allowed to proceed with color after four years of training in graphite pencil- pastel followed and then oil.
Joseph has been selling original art since he was 19 years old and has had success in this field. He has work in The Metro Toronto Zoo corporate collection, in collections as far away as France and South Africa. He was nominated for Artist of the Year by Faces Magazine, and was featured on the front page of The Ottawa Citizen. Ottawa Life Magazine had a feature on his work and he has been interviewed on CBC radio and regional news papers as well as blogs and pod casts.
Joe works in a full range of mediums but prefers oil, acrylic and pastel to create his work.
"I hope people feel the joy in viewing the work that I feel creating it."
