John DuChene
Man-made or natural objects on the landscape drive John’s work, whether he uses pen and ink or acrylic paint. His exploration in these mediums has extended from the late seventies through to today. Living in eastern Ontario for his adult life has provided infinite opportunities to view inspirational, diverse and varied landscapes.
Careful design, coupled with the sparing use of colour, imparts a cool but intentionally strong result to the chosen subject. The work represents an image and an initial mood of simplicity, but as the objects are viewed, his work attempts to evoke growing complexity.
John is a self-taught artist whose training as a Landscape Architect greatly influences his art.
Commissioned paintings of homes, cottages and historic sites are very welcome.
John lives in Arden, Ontario.
