Louise Palmer

Louise Palmer is an Ottawa based Mixed Media Collage Artist with a passion for animals and nature.

​

Originally from Hampshire, England, Louise has a background in Jewellery making and repair having apprenticed under the tutelage of her father. Art has been a constant and evolving journey. After studying Creative Art at Algonquin College, Ottawa in 2014, Louise has exhibited in galleries, art shows and accepts commissions for pet portraits.

"I love to play with colour, patterns and texture. It is such a thrill to really connect with my work as I forage for images to rip, tear and rearrange.

​

Creating a collage primarily from nothing but an old book or magazine gives me the freedom to play and experiment, to suggest movement from a carefully placed pattern or to let go of searching for just the right colour but concentrate instead on values.
